NIKE X R.T. COLLABORATION

Riccardo Tisci's collaboration with Givenchy may only have been announced a matter of weeks ago, but it's already been unveiled. The Givenchy creative director has designed four different basketball shoes using one of the well-known sports brand's most iconic styles, the Air Force 1, as his starting point - and they're certainly original. As well as the normal hi and low-top styles, Tisci has introduced a mid-calf and knee-high style (suitable for the 'braver' followers of fashion).
"The shoe is universal yet somehow very personal," says Tisci. "I travel all over the world, and I see people wearing the Air Force 1, and they wear it in so many different ways. And so I was thinking, what is the essence of the Air Force 1? And how do I take that essence and make my own statement?"Tisci continues, "For me the Air Force 1 is not about gender, it's not about a particular city, nor is it about a certain style. The community decides. It's democratic. It's love." The Nike R.T. Air Force 1 Collection will release in two distinct packs starting in spring 2014. The collection will include the Nike R.T. Air Force 1 Lo, Nike R.T. Air Force 1 Mid, Nike R.T. Air Force 1 Hi, and the Nike R.T. Air Force 1 Boot and be available globally at select retailers and on Nikelab.com. All styles will be available in white from March 1, and in black from April 1. - (pic and text from here)

These are actually great news, since you may know that I'm a big fan of Tisci's work. I love Givenchy and Nike, I even own the Air Force 1 in black and white hehe but what can I say... I hope there is another model, because these one really suck, sorry. Who the fuck wears knee-high sneakers?! I'm disappointed, but maybe I'm lucky and there are more models to come. But who knows, this trend/ hype thing really got me, so I wouldn't be surprised, if  I might jump on this train.
